Free Child Care Training Offered

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy as Far Rockaway is rebuilding, the Business Outreach Center (BOC) is offering a free child care training course.

This child care training has been offered to the Far Rockaway community for the past nine years thanks to funding made available by State Senator James Sanders Jr.

The Child Care Means Business program is a ten week, 50 hour, intense training that teaches business management and nutrition to individuals who want to start or expand a child care home-based business.

Training is mandated by the State and credits can be applied toward the required 30 hours of training.

The Child Care Means Business program allows individuals to earn as much as 15 hours of training credits. Applications for enrollment into the child care training class are now being accepted.

Classes will begin on Monday, February 4th, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and are held on Monday and Thursday nights.
