In the first acoustic set they have played since hurricane Sandy, the duo gave their own spin to an eclectic mix of songs covering Michael Jackson, Hall and Oates, Lady Gaga, the Beatles, original tunes and more.

Baker’s bluesy voice, showcased in opening with Janis Joplin’s “Me and Bobby McGee,” came through powerfully while Butler ably handled the acoustic guitar backing and vocals of his own. Butler’s sister also joined in here and there to add a third voice to their sound.

Baker and Butler soon had the large, happy crowd singing along and even dancing.

Indaculture, whose members also include Matty Allen, who was guest bartender Sunday, and Danny Mulvanerty, are featured on the new “Welcome To South Queens: Songs That Survived Superstorm Sandy” CD.

The multitalented band was recently featured in the New York Daily News, having lost nearly all of their equipment and many of their living spaces during hurricane Sandy.

Butler acknowledged they were very grateful to be playing again courtesy of generous equipment donations from the Rockaway community.
