SFDS Novice Blue Can’t “Stick” Their Shots

The term “throw enough mud at the wall and some of it will stick” obviously doesn’t apply to basketballs, too.

The previously unbeaten St. Francis de Sales Novice Blue team threw and threw the basketball towards the rim 57 times this past Sunday against their friends and brothers from Brooklyn’s Good Shepherd at Marine Park’s JHS court.

Only seven of those throws would actually find their way into the middle of the angry rim.

Good Shepherd would go on to defeat St. Francis 19-16 just a week after getting pasted by 16 by them.

It stayed close in the fourth and St. Francis would tie the game at 16 apiece, but the team couldn’t find enough momentum to gain the lead.

Great adjustments were made by the Brooklyn team to slow down and stop the beach team from completing the series sweep as SFDS shot just 12% from the field. St. Francis looks to turn it back around and will play their next game Sunday at 5 p.m. at St. Edmunds High School against St. Matthias.
