Postal Workers Go Above And Beyond For Rockaway’s Children

By Miriam Rosenberg

Not rain, nor snow, nor Superstorm Sandy kept postal workers in Far Rockaway from going above and beyond the call of duty to put a smile on the faces of the area’s children after the storm ravaged the peninsula in October.

According to Rockaway/Inwood postmaster Cassandra Louie, employees “donated toys, supplies and time to collecting, wrapping and distributing presents to local children,” after the Rockaways were hit by the storm last year.

“This effort was solely coordinated, and executed by our Far Rockaway employees, and directly benefited our Far Rockaway community,” said Louie, adding the workers went “above and beyond” in their efforts.

“It is my privilege to their Postmaster,” Louie said.
