Music To Our Ears
I am writing this letter to you and hoping to have it published. Albert Meyer who is a nine year old boy from Beach 129th street helped his music teacher in the most thoughtful way. Patrick and Linda Lorenzo lost all of their instruments in the recent storm. Albert takes piano and drum lessons with Patrick in his basement music studio, and was very concerned about them and their instruments. He took it upon himself to write a letter to the Barry Manilow Foundation, to express his concern and hope for a donation. A woman named Kathy Novak got hold of his letter and answered Albert’s prayer. She managed to obtain donations from several music companies including that of Dan Brandi, from Frank and Camille's who donated a cello and a violin, and offered a loaner piano for one year. They also received a drum set and two guitars from the Buffalo Grove Singers of Buffalo Grove, Chicago. Kathy flew here from Chicago yesterday to present these gifts to Patrick and Linda. It was an amazing moment as well a great gift from all involved. Albert who is currently displaced from his own home should be recognized for his thoughtfulness and selfless act of kindness.
