Come Together

Dear Editor:

The pre-existing immediate need for food and water is over.

We, as a community, need to work together to pick ourselves up, and dust ourselves off. We need to stop with the excuses and go back to work and school. We need to get our priorities back in order and start attending community meetings. Our first thought in the morning shouldn’t be what can I get today, but what can I learn today. The East end, West end barriers need to be broken and we must unite as one community. Community meetings should have higher attendance than ever while we demand the best for our community, but even now there are still the same faces at every meeting. I am personally tired of decisions being made for us that are in our “best interest” by those who don’t even live in Rockaway. We must band together to our opinions and concerns at community forums and start putting back together the broken pieces.
