The Knight of Columbus is opening their doors to civic, church and local organizations in need of a temporary meeting place. The Knight of Columbus is opening their doors to civic, church and local organizations in need of a temporary meeting place. The Msgr. William F. Burke- Rockaway Council #2672 Knights of Columbus, located at 333 Beach 90 Street, is open and ready to offer their premises free of charge to any civic, church or local organization that may need a meeting place.

The Council made the announcement this week in letter to The Wave.

“We wish to express our thoughts and prayers to all of our neighbors in the Breezy Point, Roxbury, Broad Channel and Rockaway communities that were impacted by Super Storm Sandy,” The group stated. “After much hard work by our members, we have reopened and wish all of our neighbors and friends a Merry Christmas and safe 2013.”

The council is also conducting a food drive to replenish the pantries at the local churches in time for Christmas. Donations, the Council says, are gladly accepted any evening after 6:00 p.m. and from Friday through Sunday from noon to 9:00 p.m.

Anyone who needs assistance can contact the Council at 718-634-3699.
