Q52 Service Expanded To Ease Commute

The Q52 bus service has been expanded to include more buses during peak hours. The Q52 bus service has been expanded to include more buses during peak hours. In response to the concerns of many Southern Queens and Rockaways commuters, Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder announced he has successfully worked with the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) to increase the Q52 service to provide direct, limited-stop service to connect with the A train during peak rush hours. The increase in service, he believes will help ease the long and often congested route to and from the Rockaways for thousands of commuters. With this increase in Q52 service, effective immediately, the MTA will be doubling service times during peak rush hours. Q52’s will run in peak direction every six minutes instead of the current 12 minutes. On the outskirts of the peak hours, the Q52’s will have increased peak direction service every seven and a half minutes, as opposed to the current 15 minutes.

“Superstorm Sandy has affected every aspect of our lives and daily commutes are not something people should be worried about,” Goldfeder said. “I’m glad to have been able to work with Joe Lhota and the MTA on making these improvements and will continue to explore further potential options to ease commutes for our fam- ilies as we continue to recover.”

At Beach 67, this is evident

At Beach 67, this is evident & appreciated. Liberty Ave, where most of us connect to the A train, continues to be a sometimes dangerous chaotic mob scene.
