The 100 PCT CC Resuming Meetings

The 100 Precinct Community Council has announced that it will resume its monthly meetings at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Rockaway Beach starting in December.

Danny Ruscillo, the 100 Precinct Community Council president told The Wave this week that the meeting will be held on Wednesday December 19, at 7:30 p.m. at 333 Beach 90 Street. Ruscillo was unsure about the status of the Knights of Columbus after it received damage, like most others, from the storm. The council hopes that people with questions and concerns for the precinct will make it to the meeting.

“I have a good feeling we will see quite a few people who want to ask questions,” Ruscillo said. The Knights of Columbus will also be hosting a fundraiser that will go towards restoring the club which is often used for many community events and public forums.

DJs @ Work will be hosting a Radio Bingo Fundraiser tonight, November 30, and donating all the proceeds to help the Msgr. William F. Burke/Rockaway Council cover repair costs incurred as a result of the storm.

“Unfortunately, the super storm has also caused flooding damage to our Council that will not be picked up by insurance. Through the years the Rockaway Council has been there not only for our members but also for our community. The council provides one of the few places for many of our wonderful community organizations and groups to assemble for meetings,” the Knights of Columbus wrote in an e-mail this week.
