Macias is wanted in connection with the murder of his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter. He allegedly beat the girl to death while he was babysitting for her at the mother’s Far Rockaway home on July 30, 1993.

An autopsy at the time found that the little girl had suffered a severe beating in the abdominal area, causing damage to her liver, heart, pancreas, stomach and lungs.

In April of 1994, Macias was indicted in Queens Criminal Court on charges of second degree murder, manslaughter, criminally negligent manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a minor. Although he was indicted, he has never faced prosecution because he fled the jurisdiction. In 1999, he was charged in federal court with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Federal officials warn that Macias should be considered armed and dangerous and a flight risk.
