FDNY Responds to Beach 13 Street Fire

On Sunday afternoon windows are boarded up and a charred stove sits on the porch at 262 Beach 13 Street where firefighters responded to an all hands fire last Saturday night. Seventeen units responded to the October 20 fire according to a source at the FDNY who added that there were two civilian injuries. One person was treated and released at scene, and the other was transported to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital with smoke inhalation. While officials say the cause is under investigation a tenant who lives in the home told The Wave that the fire started on the first floor inside the home by the stove near the front window. The call for the fire came in at 9:41 p.m. and was under control at 10:09 p.m.
