H.S. Soccer Squads Prepare For Playoffs

The three peninsula public high school soccer teams know their first round playoff matchups after the PSAL released the results of their seeding meeting held on Wednesday night.

In the PSAL Class B boys bracket, No. 12 Beach Channel/Channel View, who finished with a 9-4-1 record, and second place within the Queens B1 division, will host No. 21 Wingate on Sunday at 1 p.m. Far Rockaway earned their first playoff berth since 2009 when they won 3-1 over Campus Magnet on the final day of the regular season. The No. 29 Seahorses travel to Randalls Island on Sunday to take on No. 4 Brandeis.

In the Class B girls bracket, Beach Channel earned the No. 9 seed in the first round after clinching the Queens B-VI division with a 3-1 victory over Richmond Hill on Tuesday. The Lady Dolphins host No. 24 Baruch College on Saturday at 3 p.m.

The second round of the PSAL Class A and B will be played on Monday. The boys Class A and B second round is to be held on Tuesday. Football

After suffering a 26-14 loss at Flushing High School last week, Beach Channel/Channel View (4-3) will return home on Saturday to take on John Adams (2- 5) in a PSAL Championship division matchup at noon. Far Rockaway Educational Campus (2-5) travels to Staten Island to take on 5-2 Petrides at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
