The Cornerstone Redfern PAL hosted a job fair targeted toward young people between the ages of 14 to 24 years old last week at the Redfern Community Center. Approximately 40 organizations took part as interviews, workshops on resume writing and about seeking a job were held. Computers were also provided for job seekers to apply online for positions. Among the local organizations taking part were the Rockaway Development and Revitalization Corporation, My Name Is Victory, MakeMyMotherProud, and the office of Councilman James Sanders Jr. Some of the others taking part were the NYPD, the Department of Labor, La Guardia’s Youth Work Program and the Mayor’s Office NYC for Business Solutions.
