Halloween ‘Zoophobia’ Comes To Fort Tilden
“Boo!” is the word from the Rockaway Artists Alliance as it gets into the spirit with Zoophobia!, a haunted Halloween multi-media maze extravaganza. The doors of RAA’s T-7 Gallery will open on a world of ghosts, ghouls and demented animals gone wild on Friday, October 26, Saturday, October 27 and Halloween Night October 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Fort Tilden in the Rockaways.
Zoophobia! will provide thrills and chills as it winds visitors through a twisting, turning Halloween maze and brings them face to face with a menagerie of manic monkeys, screaming birds, arctic animal anomalies, misfit mammals and more! They shouldn’t be surprised to run into a big bad wolf around a dark corner, be guided by a sultry dog faced lady or have a ravenous giant volunteer come flying past their heads. This highly interactive event uses sights, sounds, lights, music, imaginative effects and an army of undead costumed characters to make this spooky wildlife underworld come alive. It’s a good scare and a fun time for stout hearted souls of all ages.
“Zoophobia!” carries on that grand RAA tradition, digging deep to unleash a galloping and ghostly wild kingdom of its own! For those who dare to enter, a scary time is guaranteed for all.
Admission to “Zoophobia!” is free. All donations are welcome. Parking is free and amply available. Remember that this is an interactive event, so wear comfy shoes and cool weather clothing; and those very little ones who get frightened too easily… well, wait till next year to bring them.
RAA works in partnership with the National Park Service at Gateway National Recreation Area.
Fort Tilden is an historic and now decommissioned U.S. Army post. It is a premier part of the National Park Services’ Gateway National Recreation Area and is haunted by no ghosts … so far as we know.
