Thanks For ‘Bus Stop Blunder’

Dear Editor,

Thank you for the recent article about the “Bus Stop Blunder.” Because of this incorrect bus stop sign, I received three parking tickets because my car was parked a few feet beyond the street cleaning sign for 36 hours. Of course I was unaware of the incorrect signage. I pleaded not guilty and appeared before a judge with photos of the signs (or lack thereof) but was found guilty.

I appealed the decision but first had to pay the fines ($345) but the judge’s decision was upheld. After reading your article, I contacted Councilman Ulrich’s office who informed me that the DOT is aware of the incorrect signage and will be faxing a letter to Ulrich’s office. I am sure I will never get a refund and feel I have been victimized by both the Department of Finance and our local police who only seem to be interested in their ticket quota. There seems to be no help for the average, tax-paying citizens. Residents, beware of this trap!
