National Grid Prez Speaks With Students
Ken Daly, president of National Grid, visited Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School on Tuesday, October 16 and spoke to students regarding careers in science and engineering. Daly spoke specifically about National Grid’s “Engineering Our Future” program.
Egzon Shehu, a senior at Bishop Ford, was one of 20 students chosen to participate in the program last summer. In addition to discussing what role National Grid plays in society, Daly emphasized that the students have great opportunities ahead of them but they must work hard and get good grades and they should also participate in after school activities and community service.
An innovative and comprehensive program entitled “Engineering Our Future” is an initiative to inspire youth, attract and develop engineers. National Grid already has invested more than $3 million in this program to target students of all ages and backgrounds to encourage them to study science, technology, engineering and math, collectively known as “STEM.”
