SFDS X-Mites Win As Playoffs Approach

It’s common knowledge Columbus cooled his cleats in 1492, so the SFDS CYO soccer teams celebrated his holiday in similar fashion. The week prior, however, the First Grade SFDS X Girls Mites continued their winning streak by beating a tough SFDS M team. X Squad was led on offense by lightning fast Lauren Brennan, Julia Courtney, Kaitlyn Nestor, Andrea Smith, Alexandra Somerville, Natalie D’Agostino and Daisy O’Grady. Also, without the outstanding goaltending of Alexandra Caruso, Courtney Murtagh and Lily Keene and the aggressive defense of Lauren and Allie D’Orazio, Gabriella Reddan, Ava Abruzzo, Elise Serpico, Sara O’Shea, and Ava Gigliemo, the game would have never been won. The girls have continued to improve their skills week after week! Land ho, SFDS. This week, the sprint to the playoffs begins again. Pictured is SFDS G’s Brooke Leahy, who shows the speed needed for making a long playoff run.
