Host Peanut Shamrocks Edge North Babylon

The BCAC Peanut Shamrocks hosted North Babylon this past Saturday at BCAC Memorial Field. The following Shamrock defensive linemen were ready for a potent Babylon offense: Logan Hilgendorf, James Arena, Jeremiah O’Shea, Frankie Sinisgalli, Logan Kalisak, Joseph Parsley, Dean Esposito, Tommy Martin, linebackers Mike Borhi, James Ferchland, Matty Martin, Lukas Weiss, Joseph Esposito and safety Matt Stack.

Borhi, Stack and Martin made key tackles along with a whole defensive gang tackle to force a turnover on downs in the first series. The Shamrock offense called upon quarterback Aidan Leary, linemen Sean Mitzkavetch, Casey Allen and Hayden Malsy to provide blocking for running backs J. Esposito, Stack and Sinisgalli who marched to the Babylon 13-yard line but stalled on a close fourth down play.

Babylon would strike first scoring on their third series to take a 6-0 lead. The offense got the ball back with 5 minutes left in the half. Leary managed the game to perfection and did not lose his composure after taking several big hits. He called upon Matt Stack, who scored on a counter play for a 20-yard touchdown, which was his fifth of the season.

The Shamrock offense opened the second half. Sinisgalli triggered the power running game blasting up the middle along with some sweeps by J. Esposito. Weiss then broke several tackles to score on a 24-yard run and a 12-6 Shamrock lead.

The Shamrock defense took over the second half, stopping Babylon on three straight possessions and never letting them cross the Shamrock 20-yard line. Weiss, Sinisgalli, M. Martin, Stack and Borhi led the way making several key tackles and preserving a 12-6 victory.

Borhi had one of the biggest hits on the evening for the Shamrock defense. Offensive rushing yardage leaders: Stack (64 yards, 1 touchdown), Weiss (24 yards, 1 touchdown), J.Esposito (18 yards), Sinisgalli (15 yards). Defensive tackle leaders: M.Martin (6), Weiss (4), Stack (4), Borhi (4) and Sinisgalli (4). The Peanut Shamrocks travel to Bethpage on Sunday, October 14 for a 10 a.m. game. Please come and see them continue to shine. They are all having a great time learning the game and working together. Visit www.BCACNY.com for field directions.
