Terry Croft


Terry Croft, a longtime Rockaway resident, died September 25.

Croft was born in Harlem, New York on October 19, 1948. She was a Rockaway resident for more than 15 years and worked for the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission.

Croft was preceded in death by her parents, George and Minnie Mae Croft; siblings, Georgia Mae Croft, Joann Croft-Potter and George Croft Jr. (Porgie); best friend, Vera; girlfriends, Carrie, Gloria, and Laurie; and feline companion, Murphy.

She is survived by her siblings, Johnny Lee (Annie) and Raymond; children, Larry (Monique), Terrina and Eliakim; grandchildren, Eliakim Jr., Kennedy, Kyler, and Chase Johnson; cousin, Gwendolyn (David); goddaughter, Ayanna; surrogate daughter, Tadri Edmonds; best friend, Brenda; Mia; and a host of nieces, nephews, greatnephews, great-nieces, cousins and other family and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. Interment took place at Mount Holiness Cemetery, Butler, New Jersey.
