Holy Hyenas, Batman! And you thought Jurassic Park was bad? You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
But Madam Rayah HAS! It’s …ZOOPHOBIA! Oh horror of horrors!
Oh, citizens of The Rock, who each year must endure the meanest, foulest, dangerousest horrors of Halloween. (Why us? Oh Joe, Oh Eric, can you help us????) Queen Rayah has peered into her crystal balls and channeled Marlin Perkins (who of you is old enough to remember him?) to be able to warn us to dare not put even a toe (not even a severed one) into Fort Tilden’s sTudio 7 Gallery (building T-7) on the evenings of October 26, 27 and 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. Because, my friends, the damnations of a Zoo Gone Wild await you. MadR has entrusted me with this knowledge and I pass it on to you, thusly:
A clique of demented critters will decide to revolt and put us in captivity. Illogical? No, ZOOological! An aviary of flying fiends will peck their way out to peck out our orbs, disorienting us and, in the confusion, forcing us behind bars. (Oh Tippi, where are you when we need you?) Inhabitants of giant monkey cages will make themselves up to look like rich, well kempt businessmen from Massachusetts to lure you and your family into hellish caves where they will peel you like bananas. And I don’t mean in a good way. Penguins, polar bears and walruses have been trained to imitate the voice of Morgan Freeman, calling us to our deaths through holes in the ice of a frigid Arctic polar cap (rented for the occasion from Frigidaire).
Voracious vultures, ravenous reptiles, monstrous manatees, bats, birds, bisons and bitches (the canine ones) will gnaw, devour and digest our skin, flesh and 401Ks till there is nothing left of us but bones bleaching in the moon. Remember, you have been WARNED. Well done, Medium Rayah. A note from the more caring of the insane monsters: A final call for construction, artist and actor volunteers is 7:30 p.m., October 25. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent; and, if you do come to Zoophobia, wear appropriate clothing and shoes for a safe, maybe cool night. And, please, no easily traumatized little ones – this fun, free event is interactive. Thanks. Any questions? Call the RAA office.
