Resorts World Loser

Dear Editor,

Our politicians may tout the Resorts World Casino as increasing revenues to our State but at what cost? In recent weeks, our local precincts have indicated a spike in larceny crimes. In addition, there has been an increase in the incidence of bank robberies in the zip codes adjacent to Resorts World and, there has even been an armed robbery of a patron in the parking lot leaving Resorts World.

Despite the agreement that Resorts World would employ local residents, I have yet to meet anyone in Rockaway that is employed by the Casino.

I have visited Resorts World three times and have found their Video Poker Machine among the lowest paying I have ever encountered in the US and abroad.

Increased crime ... lowest payouts ... need I say more?

Bob, I agree totally with

Bob, I agree totally with your assessment of "Resorts World Casino." I've visited several times, and have observed there are no "security personnel" present in the "garage" parking areas, and very few on the floors of the casino! Relative to their payouts, "all" of their machines are the lowest paying that I've ever encountered anywhere also. Perhaps, if "Resorts" feels the pull-back from the public, they would increase their security, and payouts for those that patronize their establishment.
