St. John’s Teen Stabbed
A Rockaway Park woman was arrested last week for allegedly stabbing a teenager from St. John’s Residence for Boys in his back with a pair of scissors, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
According to court papers, Shakina Holmes, 30, was in the vicinity of Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Beach 111 Street, less than a block away from St. John’s, on Tuesday September 4, at approximately 5:30 p.m. when she approached the male victim from behind and stabbed him. The relationship, if any, between the man and woman was not established in court papers and the reasoning for the dispute is not clear. Holmes does live in the area however. The victim, Joel Johnston, had to be treated for the wound resulting in five stitches in the back of his shoulder.
Holmes was arraigned at Queens Criminal Court on charges including assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment. She was released on her own recognizance and is due back in court on October 16.
