Frederick Douglas Butler III

School Safety Agent

Frederick Douglas Butler III, a longtime Rockaway resident, died August 25.

Butler was born in Jamaica, New York on May 22, 1967. He was a school safety agent and Rockaway resident for more than 15 years.

Butler was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Roslyn Cannon.

He is survived by his mother, Ida Lee Billups; sisters, Weeda L. Anderson, Cassandra L. Lindsay and Angelice E. Brown; brother, Donald Butler; motherin law, Ophila Hunt; sisters-in-law, Yvette Brockington and Miranda Cannon; brother-in-law, Erskine Cannon; daughters by marriage, Nature, Amanda and Natasha Cannon; grandchildren, Jamik Cannon, Rebecca Cannon, Armonie Small, Malik Small, Dion Cannon and Sky Crieghtney; nephews, Theodore Anderson, Jr., Donovan Butler, Tevin Isaiah Anderson and Isaiah Jaden Brown; nieces, Eboney Emery and Asia Amaya Brown; aunt, Julia Maye Williams; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. A funeral mass took place at New Hope Missionary Church, Far Rockaway. Interment followed at Springfield Cemetery, Springfield Gardens, New York.
