I’m With Schwach

Dear Editor,

I agree with Howard Schwach – Anthony Weiner deserves a second chance to hold public office.

And I say that because of the numerous inappropriate behaviors of many federal representatives starting with:

- Former President Clinton who had an affair in the White House and lied about it.

- Newt Gingrich who had an affair in the congressional parking lot.

- JFK who had many female White House staffers available for sexual favors while Jackie was away.

- Thomas Jefferson who [had a liaison with] Sally Hemming.

- Former President Eisenhower who had an affair with a British driver during WWII.

- Former Governor of New York, Elliot Spitzer, who paid for escorts.

And I mentioned all the names in this list, not to justify what Anthony Weiner did, but to demonstrate how uncommon scandals are with federal representatives.

I believe Weiner deserves a second chance to serve in whatever capacity he’s elected into.

your right Floyd about Elliot

your right Floyd about Elliot Spitzer and Newt Gingrich. Despicable and lamentable behavior and just like Anthony Weiner, undeserving to hold public office. BUT, to equate ole Thom, the author of our Independence Doctrine that broke ground for human freedoms for all peoples; and our ambassador to France; and the founder of the University of Virginia; and the author of Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Religion; and the President who doubled America's land mass, not thru war, but thru negotiations - to equate Jefferson to Anthony Weiner is a bit of a stretch, don't u think? As well, the Leader of the Allies Expeditionary Forces the world over from 1941 thru 1945; and the builder of the Interstate Highway System that spans America and re-charged the nation's economic engine - to equate Eisenhower with Weiner is a bit of stretch too, don't u think? Weiner is well-known for nothing more than his mouth and obnoxious behavior pre-tweets; and afterwards, well we all know how Rockaway was disgraced by his contemptible behavior! So, no Floyd, Weiner is undeserving, in my view. Our former Congressman has demonstrated NOTHING...no results, no accomplishments, no achievements, no hard work...that liberates him to carry the mantle of public trust or even sit in the shadows of that public trust. Best...PJS
