Shark Sighting Closes Belle Harbor Beach



Lifeguards at Beach 129 Street rushed everyone out of the ocean on Saturday afternoon after reports of a possible shark sighting. The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation could not confirm the sighting however, lifeguards did ask everyone to come out of the water for about an hour before the beach was reopened as NYPD helicopters searched the waters.
