Addabbo Health Center Hosts Mammogram Screenings



The Addabbo Family Health Center, in conjunction with the American Italian Cancer Foundation and the Samaritan Hands Health Ministry, offered free mammograms for the Rockaway community on August 3. The free screenings were available to women 40 years or older or women with a family history of breast cancer. Dr. Peter Nelson, CEO, Addabbo Family Health Center, and his staff members are working to meet the medical needs of the Rockaway community. The American Italian Cancer Foundation provided a trailer supplied with breast examination equipment, medical technicians and support. They were able to screen 66 women and aided the community in understanding the importance of breast examinations and screenings.
