Anne Curley, a longtime Rockaway resident, died July 28.
Curley was born in Edenton, North Carolina. She moved to Rockaway in 1966 from Brooklyn, New York and worked as a paraprofessional for P.S. 146. Curley was also the Queens County union representative for the United Federation of Teachers.
She is survived by her husband, James Curley; mother, Bridget McMahon; father, William McMahon; daughter, Bridget “Brianne” Curley; sons, William (Brianne) Curley and Brendan Curley; brothers, John McMahon (Erin) and Michael McMahon (Jennifer); sisters, Bernie McInerney (Kevin), Colleen Benisvy (Al) and Danielle McMahon; grandson, T.J.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Rockaway Beach. A funeral mass took place at St. Francis de Sales Church, Belle Harbor. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York.
