EPA Scientists Visit Jamaica Bay

Last week the high school students and interns in the RWA summer program joined Tasha Frazier, Paula Zevin and the EPA crew aboard the “Clean Waters” vessel for an unforgettable day on Jamaica Bay. The students met scientists from the Environmental Protection Agency and got a chance to take part in collecting water and dredge samples using their equipment. This was an opportunity for the students to learn more about the many careers open to them and the government organizations for which they can someday work. This trip was an exciting finish to the RWA marine conservation youth corps program sponsored by the EPA. RWA thanks Tasha Frazier, Paula Zevin and the entire “Clean Waters” crew who traveled to Rockaway specifically to involve the RWA students. They all were very excited to have this opportunity.
