GOP’s Scandals Vs. Family Values

Dear Editor,

I personally believe this new breed of the GOP is imposing a high level of deception on the American people in many unforgiving ways.

Does it take a single U.S. veteran to remind the self righteous GOP about their alleged “2004 GOP sex scandal” in New York City?

Didn’t a prominent New York newspaper report in July 2004, that highend strippers and prostitutes were being flown to New York from all over the nation to meet their 2004 convention needs? Weren’t there also reports that women were flown in from other countries?

I am so tired of GOP double-talk about family values, while they pursue high-end strippers, hookers, or prostitutes at their conventions. Doesn’t the GOP actually have a very bad reputation among the sex industry workers, online?

The 2004 Republican convention was considered a “windfall” for prostitution and the sex industry according to a July 2004 NY media report. These reports are still on the Internet today, for the whole world for see. Surely a committee as important as “Homeland security” has something better to do with its time, rather than to blame the President for behaviors that he obviously does not condone, since the President fired the security agents who were involved.

I am so sick of the GOP’s self-righteous attitude. They want to maintain a right to control and manipulate women, not help them. Why do they insist upon focusing on “family values” when they engage in the very things they advocate against?

Women are human beings. Every stripper, hooker and prostitute is someone’s daughter, sister or mother.

Once all political parties begin to talk about real issues, we’ll be in a better position to save what is left of this country.

Statistically, a politician

Statistically, a politician is 300% more likely to be caught up in a scandal if they are a democrat than republican. That is a fact. So, what you're saying is, democrat malfeasance is just fine because 1/4 as many pols from the opposing party do the same thing. Every corrupt pol should be ousted from office, from Meeks to Rangle to Spitzer to Blago to whomever breaks the trust of the public--period.
