Neil Sedaka Takes The Stage

American pop star and composer Neil Sedaka will perform at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury on Saturday, July 28 at 8 p.m.

The history of Rock N’ Roll would be incomplete without the innumerable contributions of Neil Sedaka. For over 55 years, Sedaka has written, performed, produced, and inspired countless songs, and his canon of compositions will continue to stand the test of time. In 1955 while still attending high school, Sedaka formed The Tokens. In 1958, Connie Francis recorded “Stupid Cupid,” and Sedaka had his first international hit as a songwriter. Written for Carol King, his 1959 single, “Oh! Carol,” was his first top ten hit. Hits like “Stairway to Heaven,” “Calendar Girl,” “Happy Birthday, Sweet Sixteen,” and “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do” solidified Sedaka as a household name. In 1974, after signing with Elton John’s Rocket Records, Neil’s career was rejuvenated and he returned to the top of the charts with the number one hit “Bad Blood” and the quintessential “Laughter In the Rain.”
