Par Tee Golf News By Peg Ansbro
That rake by the sand trap is there for golfers who feel guilty about skipping out on lawn work. If your opponent has trouble remembering whether he shot a six or a seven, he probably shot an eight.
Congratulations go to Alice Mateos for having the best score this week. Alice shot a 64! Following right behind her was Eileen Watson with a 65. Also in the sixties were Marie Campbell (66), Peg Ansbro (67) and Marge Lentnek (68). In the seventies: The duo of Meg Ferrick and Betty Weed (71), the trio of Carol Bayne, Jane Donnelly Higgins and Mary Mahoney (74), Pat Livinstone (76), Lorraine Pierson (77) and Marilyn Danese (78).
Birdies went chirping to Jane Donnelly Higgins, Marilyn Danese, Marie Campbell, Pat Livingstone and Marge Lentnek. Eileen Watson finished with two birdies. And closest to the pin on #10 was Marie Campbell. The winner of the Peggy Wheeler 50/50 was Peg Ansbro. Welcome to our new member Clare Moran and welcome back to Pat Livingstone. It is wonderful to have them as part of the Par Tee golfers.
A guy stands over his tee shot for what seemed an eternity; looking up, looking down, measuring the distance, figuring the wind direction and speed and driving his partner nuts. Finally his exasperated partner says, “What’s taking so long? Hit the blasted ball.”
The guy answers, “My wife is up there watching me from the clubhouse. I want to make this a perfect shot.”
“Forget it; you don’t stand a chance of hitting her from here.” God Bless. Have a great week!
