Jamaica Bay SB League Recap
So week 3 of the Jamaica Bay Softball League is in the books. We still have 2 undefeated teams and 1 winless team.
It was the Jack Allen Orioles vs. the Mud Sharks. I have to say it was a good game to watch but a horrible game for an Oriole.
The Mud Sharks defeated the Orioles 15-12. It was a real nail-biter. I overheard a few Sharks saying the Orioles must be working out and taking hitting classes, ’cause they played very well.
So the Daggers played the Cyclones and the final score was 19-6 in favor of the Daggers. Mike Meatball said he had to pitch lefty after the second inning because he felt bad.
He also was asking if anybody had seen Eddie Doyle. It was the Bungalow Gents getting their first big win over the no-shows and yes they were. The score was 9-5 in favor of the Gents. It was a hard hitting game for both teams and I overheard the Gents saying that their whole team played well, even Cement Shoes Feeney!
Terrance, next week ... don’t wear woman’s glasses. That was the request of the entire team.
This week was another bad, bad week for the Brewers. Last week they got smacked by the Orioles, and this week was no different as they played Grassy Point. The score was 15-7, but the Brewers couldn’t handle any of the stiff hits that came to them in the field. Tommy Molloy played a good game for the Brewers. “Just kidding,” quoted their captain Mick Falcone.
It was really Pat Molloy. The defensive plays were made by Kevin Harnisher, which earned him the game ball. Kevin said, “I had no choice but to play well, my dad is here.” Well said Kevin, well said.
At this time, I would like to say thank you to all of the wives and children for coming out and showing support for the league and thank you to all the players for showing support for the hosting bar for the week.
But I would love to see a lot more in the weeks coming up. Thanks again and see you next week.
