WANTED: Chase Bank Robber

Detectives are seeking the help of the public in identifying the man who is wanted for walking into the new Chase bank branch at Arverne by the Sea on June 22 and robbing the tellers at gunpoint. The same man is wanted for robbing the bank just one month before on May 25.

At approximately 10:45 a.m. on June 22, the suspect walked into Chase bank, located at 68-20 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, and proceeded to teller station one, then approached another teller at station 2. That’s when he handed the teller a demand note and displayed a firearm. He robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of cash and fled up Beach 69 Street towards Beach Channel Drive.

Police describe the robber as a black male, approximately 30-years-of-age, 5 foot five inches tall and approximately 180 pounds with black hair. He was last seen wearing a burgundy hat and burgundy shirt. Anybody with information is urged to call detectives at 646-610- 6910 or 212-477-7447.
