Par Tee News Golf Report By Peg Ansbro

Attention: Par Tee Ladies 2012 golf season still open to new members.Join us to learn or improve your golf game and lots of fun, too! Contact Valerie at 718- 318-1346 for information.

A good rule from Ben Hogan: Reverse every natural instinct and do the opposite of what you are inclined to do, and you will probably come very close to having a perfect golf swing. In last week’s action Peg Ansbro achieved the best score with a 68. Followed closely behind was Doris Neimeth who shot a 71.

Also, in the 70s were Jane Donnelly Higgins with a 75, and the trio of Barbara Caramelli, Ann Spillane, and Betty Weed finished with 76. Helen Mele scored 77 and Lorraine Pierson is credited with a 79. Chip-ins went chirping to Kate Hanratty, Jane Higgins and Nancy Titolo. Chip-in birdies belong to Dolores McAleer, Lorraine Pierson and Peg Ansbro.

I regret not giving credit to Nancy Heffernan who, on June 7, had a chip-in on hole #11. Margaret Bambury has returned from FL and therefore we will meet at the Catholic Club following golf on the 21st. We appreciate all that Margaret does to set up the CC for our arrival. Welcome back, Margaret!

We are a month into our season and the morning golf crowd is growing each week. Our president, Jane Donnelly Higgins, has made arrangements with Anthony at the Brooklyn Golf Club to have a one-hour golf clinic on Tuesday, June 26 at 5 p.m. Light snacks and drinks will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the Bungalow Restaurant in Rockaway Park. Please call Valerie if you wish to attend so that Anthony can have a head count for the event. Everyone is invited so if you know of someone who wants to improve her game or begin to learn the advanced phases of basic golf, please extend the invitation to her. There’s no game like golf: Some golfers go out with three friends, play eighteen holes, and return with three enemies. God Bless! Have a great week!!
