Dear Editor,

We should fight to get an evacuation plan. There are storms going on around the world that shock us every other day. There are worries that show what New York City will look like in a natural disaster, so we can use that to make a plan for us all.

In Rockaway, we can’t get through Beach Channel Drive fast enough anymore. How are we going to escape by car at the same time?

This peninsula had to have a law on how many people evacuate safely to cross the bridges. I bet you if someone high up was paid to overlook that rule. Because it makes no sense that a place like Rockaway with only three main roads for escape should hold so many people.

I bet there’s something written somewhere that a peninsula with three main roads can only hold a certain amount of people. If there isn’t, then that is stupid. We should fight for evacuating safely, and have public buses available in case of a storm. Every other block should have a pick up area so we can keep cars off the roads during emergency situations.

Let’s be prepared and not wait until disaster happens.
