Belle Harbor’s Elderly And Disabled

Dear Editor,

As a Belle Harbor resident I pass by the Belle Harbor Manor (Beach 125 Street, Belle Harbor, NY), on almost a daily basis. There’s a situation there that exists which could easily be resolved.

Residents (some of whom are elderly or disabled with mobility problems) are unable to sit outdoors due to lack of chairs to sit upon.

Chairs from last year worn from wear were discarded. These people who have so little, long to sit outdoors, enjoying the beauty of nature and the cool Rockaway breeze.

Might there be someone out there willing to donate chairs which would allow them the opportunity to sit outdoors? Enjoying our beautiful Rockaway summer weather – which the rest of us take for granted – should be the least we can do for our elderly and disabled.
