Public Pipeline Hearings Slated
There will be two upcoming public meetings of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regarding the planned Rockaway Delivery Lateral Project by Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company, LLC in the coming week, according to FERC sources.
The meetings will take place on Tuesday, June 12, at Aviator Sports & Events Center located at 3159 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, at 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 13, at the Knights of Columbus Rockaway Council 2672 located at 333 Beach 90 Street, at 7 p.m.
According to information provided by the FERC, Transco representatives will be on hand at the meetings one hour before the listed start to describe their proposal, present maps, and answer questions. Community input will help the Commission staff determine what issues need to be evaluated in the Environmental Impact Statement.
For more information on the project and its environmental impact, a fact sheet has been prepared by the FERC entitled, “An Interstate Natural Gas Facility On My Land? What Do I Need To Know?” which is available for viewing at www.ferc.gov. This fact sheet addresses a number of typically-asked questions including how to participate in the Commission’s proceedings.
