Getting “up on your toes” is a bad habit that causes improper balance during the swing. In most cases it results from reaching too far to the ball. To check against toe dancing, try lifting your toes when you are in the address position.
If you can’t lift your toes without moving another part of your body, you’re reaching too far. Step closer to the ball, stand a little taller so that your weight is distributed evenly between the balls and heels of your feet. This will improve your posture and set you up for a wellbalanced swing.
