Edna “Sugie” D’Oliva (nee Barry)
Edna D’Oliva, a lifelong resident of Belle Harbor and Roxbury, died May 24.
D’Oliva was raised in Belle Harbor and attended St. Francis de Sales and Stella Maris High School. She and her husband settled in Roxbury. She spent her golden years wintering in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, drawn by her love of the ocean. She was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Roxbury Mayor’s Committee.
D’Oliva was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew “Curley” D’Oliva.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Sullivan (Terrence); sisters, Laurette Whittle and Dr. RaeAnne Barry; and brother, Patrick Barry.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A mass celebrating her life will be held at St. Genevieve’s Church in Roxbury on Saturday, June 23, at 10:30 a.m.
