The Leaning Poles Of 116 Street

Belle Harbor resident Stephen Berger has noticed that the telephone poles near the HSBC Bank on Beach Channel Drive and Beach 116 Street have been leaning precariously for several months and are leaning more and more each week. This pole is only one example of three in that same general area. When Berger called 311, he was told that he would have to figure out who owned the pole before anything could be done. It reminds Wave staffers of a similar leaning pole on Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Beach 90 street that eventually fell, knocking out power to the entire area for several hours.
