Well seems like the Karen Ann charter boat not only attracts fish but last week we had some brainiacs on board. Tuesday Paul Greenberg, New York Times bestselling author, was aboard and to his credit he’s as good with a rod as he is with a pen. He was high hook landing quite a few bass into the twenties on live bait.
Anyway we had some dare I say periods of nice weather and with that came a rise in the fishing. Sunday blitz like fishing among the schools of bunker down towards Atlantic Beach, and the remainder of the week saw some fairly consistent catches. Jumbo blues also picked up on the bait schools and showed their mettle bending rods and breaking lines. The local head boats also had some great moments with bass and blues, too.
The bay also rebounded off the weather fronts and some bass did their thing as far back as Inwood. Fluke junkies are also getting in their licks as they too made a good showing. So for a change the fishing is on an up note. Let’s hope it continues. Until the next tide …
