SFDS Students Celebrate Their Identity

Last Friday St. Francis de Sales School celebrated what makes it special as a Catholic school.

The main focus of the day was a beautiful Mass in the Church.

Representatives from each class took part by carrying banners created by their peers to display their Catholic identity. A faculty member, two graduating students and a parent spoke to those assembled about what Catholic school means to them.

At the end of the Mass, the first-, second- and fourthgraders sang a special song to the congregation.

The second part of the celebration took place in the St. Francis de Sales Prayer Garden that had been decorated with balloons and flags to create a festive atmosphere.

The older students partnered with the younger children to walk to the garden and have a picnic lunch in the beautiful sunshine.

What a wonderful way to celebrate being part of Catholic education!
