LIAF Holds Women’s Golf Outing
LIAF (The Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation) is pleased to announce a new awareness and fundraising initiative: a Women’s Golf Outing and Spa Day, to be held on Tuesday, May 15, at the North Shore Country Club in Glen Head.
LIAF introduces the Women’s Golf Outing and Spa Day in recognition of the profound impact of Alzheimer’s disease on women. According to “The Shriver Report: A Woman’s Nation Takes on Alzheimer’s,” 65 percent of those living with Alzheimer’s disease are women. Sixty percent of those providing care for people with Alzheimer’s disease are women. Funds raised by LIAF’s Women’s Golf Outing and Spa Day will support programs that enhance daily life for those diagnosed with the disease through stimulating programming, and lighten the load for caregivers by providing much needed respite from the stresses of the caregiving role.
The event offers something for everyone – whether looking to golf, pamper oneself for the day or both, all while supporting a worthy cause! Options include: 18 holes of golf and lunch; 9 holes of golf and lunch; 9 holes of golf, mini-spa treatments, and lunch; OR mini-spa treatments and lunch only. Mini-spa services include mini chair massage and mini facials, provided by Equinox Fitness Clubs.
“We designed the day so that there is something for everyone – even those who do not play golf but would like to be supportive of the cause!” stated Anna Maria Warmuz, LIAF Director of Development. Sponsorship opportunities, tee signs, and e-journal ad opportunities are also available, as well as individual registrations.
“LIAF is grateful to our committee members and sponsors for taking a leadership role in launching this new event,” said LIAF Executive Director Fred Jenny. “Their initiative and support will help LIAF shine a spotlight on the profound effect of Alzheimer’s disease on women.” Event sponsors include the Law Offices of Ann-Margaret Carrozza, Don Higgins Realty, Inc., and Farrell Fritz.
