Buoy Floats Up On Beach 101 Street

Ella Leonora Wittmer, age 4, waits patiently along the shores of Beach 101 Street for her Uncle Victor Martino, Master (Captain) of the USNS Arctic to pass by on his way to port at the US Naval Weapons Station in Earle, NJ. The Coast Guard has confirmed that the buoy broke loose from its mooring in the Chapel Hill South Channel near the Atlantic Highlands in New Jersey sometime in January. The USCG is working with the NYC Parks Department to expedite the removal. Photo by Tommy Wittmer.
