Alvin Cobb, a longtime Rockaway resident, died April 11.
Cobb was born on February 26, 1944 in Jamaica, New York. He was a lieutenant security officer and lived in Rockaway 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era as a nurse.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Cobb; children, Jimmy (Wanda), Betty (the late Rodney), Sara (Doug), Manuel (Ramona) and Richard (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Joseph, Anglic, Tommie, Lakisha, Josie, Michael, Douglas, Destini,
Elaine, Joseph, Daniel, Krystle and Richard; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Akira, Tyrel, Andre, Josuha, Alajah, Tamiyah, Aliyah, Lamayah, Darren, Lizzette and Anisia; greatgreat grandchild, Darren III; friend, Melvin and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. Interment took place at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, New York.
