Scholars’ Represented At Sci Fair

On Saturday, April 28 the first annual Citywide Middle School Science Fair was held at NEST+m school in Manhattan. Three students from the Scholars’ Academy competed, two won first place for their grade level.  Sasha Fomina, 6th grade, won first place for all 6th-graders. Her experiment looked into how different types of music affect a person’s concentration and work efficiency.  Jason Mohabir, 7th grade, won first place for all 7th-graders. His experiment was tracking sun spots and studying how they affect tornadoes.  Stephanie Peperone, 8th grade, also competed and represented Scholars’

Academy and Rockaway. Her experiment looked into how different types of food affect pulse rate.
