Shamrocks AAU Team Goes 2-0 In Mount Vernon

Head coach Billy Hofmann and assistant coaches Brendan Moriarty and Frank Henglein guided the BCAC Shamrocks fifth grade AAU team when they traveled to Hooperstown in Mount Vernon to play in the Easter one-day shoot-out on Saturday, April 7.

The Shamrocks played the host team, the Hooperstown Huskies, in the first game and won 42-22. BCAC was led by Kevin Moriarty with 11 points. Michael Lynch and Ian Thurlow each scored 8 points followed by Michael Henglein with 7 points. In the second game, the Shamrocks faced the second Huskies team. BCAC put on a shooting clinic by hitting five 3-pointers to win 55-17. The scoring was led by Liam Malsey with 15 points, along with Thurlow adding 14 points. The next tournament takes the Shamrocks over the Verrazzano Bridge to play in the Staten Island Stingrays tournament on Saturday, April 28 and Sunday April 29.
