PS/MS 105 Hosts Successful Health And Safety Fair


Rockaway Ravens. Rockaway Ravens. Parent Coordinator Alla Miller and art teacher Norma Allende, joined forces to coordinate the first Health and Safety Fair at PS/MS 105, on Saturday, March 31.

Local and citywide organizations participated in the education of parents and students, who enjoyed their visit by learning about diabetes, cancer, eating habits and better food choices, nutrition, car and bicycle safety, fire prevention and safety, and more.

The Rockaway Ravens entertained guests, teaching them about the importance of exercising while having fun. Liza George and her team gave a sweaty Zumba workout to parents and students of all ages who left asking for more.

The affair was sponsored by Modell’s Sporting Goods, Stop and Shop, and Harbor Optics, and counted the support of the National Children’s Study, FDNY, Culinary Kids, Joseph P. Addabbo - WIC Program, South Island Medical Associates, N.Y. Coalition for Transportation Safety, JMB Home Care Training, Department of Youth and Community Development, Neighborhood Health Provider, and PS 105 Parent Association.

Everybody enjoyed the three hours of learning and fun.
