Margaret (Peggy) nee Healy Hurley


Margaret (Peggy) nee Healy Hurley, a longtime Rockaway resident, died April 11.

Hurley was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Rockaway 37 years ago. She was a supervisor for the former New York Telephone Company. She was a member of the St. Thomas More Golden Age Club, ParTee, Ladies AOH (LAOH) Div. 21. and retired from the New York Chiefs Roller Derby Team.

Hurley was preceded in death by her brother, John.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel (Donald); brother, Michael; sister in-law, Toni Healy; cousins in Ireland and New York and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Rockaway Beach. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, April 14, and Sunday April 15, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day. A funeral mass will take place on Monday, April 16, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, Rockaway Point. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.
