Hernandez Receives National Scholarship
The National Society of Collegiate Scholars has appointed Pamela Hernandez of Rockaway as their newest member. Hernandez is attending Stony Brook University, and because of her excellent academic performance, the organization has recognized her as a bona fide member of the Society.
Freshmen and sophomores who rank in the top 20 percent of their university are invited into the Society. It is the nation’s only interdisciplinary honors organization for first and second year college students, so receiving NSCS membership is an exceptional accomplishment.
Hernandez is being awarded with access to scholarships and many other opportunities with the National Society. She is a symbol of academic achievement in the Rockaway community and she is expected to ensure that her invitation to the Society is used to its utmost advantage.
